I was wondering if it would be possible to set the hotkeys by pressing them instead of having to select it in a huge drop-down menu, its very clunky when we are trying to use the extra (non default) buttons from gaming keyboards/mouses etc.

Those extra buttons are typically called "XButton1" and "XButton2". You can try those. If not, I'll see what I can do, if I can add this
