You're right, this is hard to reproduce in cash. However, I just tested on an HU SNG and the result was the same. In both cases from what I saw, whether you cover, or they cover, Pokerstars displays the 1st (Fold) and 3rd (Bet) buttons on the table, although the 3rd button says "Call xxx" in these cases. The middle button is not displayed. SAT uses the 3rd button to determine if action is required, so in theory it SHOULD be working.
I see that you're using an old version of SAT.. usually its best to stay up to date with the latest, although I dont see that I've made any changes to PokerStarsMercury recently that would affect this.
