Yes multiple people had said that Stars hotkeys were requiring two presses. Even some players using other softwares, or none at all, were having this problem after one of Stars updates last year:

And people were noticing this with SAT as well.
Recently I had the idea to revert StarsAurora to use the basic clicking method in SAT, in which SAT will now physically move the mouse real fast in order to make the click. A few people have said that this has eliminated the problem, and you should no longer require to manually click the table first.
I will be curious to see if this fixes the problem for you as well. Please let me know
