Many of the setup phases within SaT require that a user press F7, F8, F9, or F10 as a hotkey to perform some required action in order to set the program up. These keys are usually at the top of the keyboard and most users have no problem.
However, some users have had trouble with these F keys not working.
First, some laptops require you to press Fn+Fkey to use them (for example Fn + F7
.
Second, you should look on your keyboard/laptop and see if you have an F-lock key, and toggle that to enable the F keys.
If neither of those work, the following alternatives are available as a workaround:
For the F7 hotkey during the New Layout wizard, you can alternatively use CTRL + Click
.
For the F9 hotkey during Include Site setup, you can alternatively use CTRL + SHIFT + Click
on a table.
For the F10 hotkey during Include Site setup, you can alternatively use CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + Click
. But make sure you click on the MIDDLE of the table (on the felt area), NOT on the Fold button.
Otherwise you can try using the On Screen Keyboard.
